After a string of eight wins, the Saluda Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 48-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mid-Carolina. Saluda has struggled against Mid-Carolina recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Mid-Carolina's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was BreA Boyd, who scored 18 points. Boyd is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addie Bowers, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Saluda's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2. As for Mid-Carolina, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
Saluda will take on Abbeville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Abbeville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Mid-Carolina, they will head out on the road to challenge Ninety Six at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
