Basketball Game Preview: Nease Panthers vs. Florida State University High School Seminoles

The Nease Panthers will head out to challenge the Florida State University High School Seminoles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nease will be strutting in after a win while Florida State University High School will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Nease beat Mandarin 54-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Nease found their leader in sophomore Audrey Rollins, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine steals. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for Rollins. Another player making a difference was Sage Pytel, who posted eight points and three steals.

Nease smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Florida State University High School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-48 heartbreaker at the hands of Andrew Jackson. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Seminoles have suffered since January 25th.

Nease will need focus on slowing down Christal Collins, one of several Florida State University High School players who made an impact when they last played. She had 18 points. Tori Davis was another key player, putting up 16 points.

The victory got Nease back to even at 5-5. As for Florida State University High School, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
