Basketball Recap: Metuchen Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Metuchen extended their road winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Cameron Hayes-Durina. The Metuchen Bulldogs strolled past the Dunellen Destroyers with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 41-25 thanks in part to Hayes-Durina, who went 7 for 15 en route to 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Jason Woods, who posted five points and 12 boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played.

Metuchen is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.1 points per game. As for Dunellen, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.

Metuchen will face off against Middlesex at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Middlesex's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. Dunellen has already played their next matchup (against East Brunswick Vo-Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
