It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Garfield Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They strolled past San Pedro with points to spare, taking the game 38-21. The win was familiar territory for Garfield who now have ten in a row.
Damian Cornejo had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 233 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.
Garfield's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.67 points. As for San Pedro, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Garfield's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Gardena at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Gardena is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. San Pedro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
