If Floyd were expecting to get some payback for the 16-34 defeat against Lake Arthur the last time they met, then they were left disappointed. It was close but no cigar for Floyd as they fell 18-21 to Lake Arthur on Friday. Things were expected to be close, but in this case the state rankings mixed up the winning team.
The loss dropped Floyd's record to 1-3. The victory bumped Lake Arthur's record up to 2-4.
Floyd will look to defend their home turf next week against Roy/Mosquero at 7:00 PM. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game. As for Lake Arthur, they will face off against Animas. These teams both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous games.
