Softball Recap: Hagerstown Has No Trouble Against Lapel

Hagerstown hadn't done well against Lapel recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Rylan Young spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Allison Stinson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliya Anderson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Hagerstown and bumps their season record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Lapel, they moved to 11-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Hagerstown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-2 victory against Centerville on the 30th. As for Lapel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Mt. Vernon on the 29th.
