The Blacksburg Bruins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hidden Valley Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Blacksburg and eight for Hidden Valley dating back to last season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-13, which was the final score in Blacksburg's tilt against Pulaski County on Friday. Blacksburg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 63-13.
The losing side was boosted by Luke Poff, who picked up 192 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Poff's longest reception was for an incredible 83 yards.
Meanwhile, Hidden Valley had to suffer through a rough 62-20 loss at the hands of Christiansburg. Hidden Valley gained 248 more yards on the day, but it was Christiansburg that made the best of use of them.
Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Israel Guerrero, who rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns.
The losses dropped Blacksburg to 2-5 and Hidden Valley to 0-7.
Blacksburg might still be hurting after the 28-7 defeat they got from Hidden Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Blacksburg, Joey Strong (who rushed for five yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 79 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
