The Coolidge Bears won the last time they faced the Thatcher Eagles, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Coolidge strolled past Thatcher with points to spare, taking the game 62-48.
Coolidge was led to victory by Alaysia White and Naylissa Charles. White dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Charles went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 0 assists. White is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Amaira Miguel, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Despite the loss, Thatcher still got an impressive performance from Jade Griffin, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 26 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Griffin has scored all season. Macey Carter was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Thatcher smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 35 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coolidge only pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Coolidge is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Thatcher, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-14.
Coolidge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Thatcher also has no future games currently scheduled.
