Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is East Central Homeschool's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Glen Iris Baptist came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against East Central HomeSchool, but Greyson Boyd wouldn't allow it. The East Central HomeSchool Patriots secured an 87-83 W over the Glen Iris Baptist Swordsmen on Tuesday thanks in part to Boyd, who went 12 of 29 on his way to 43 points and five rebounds. Those 43 points gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Glen Iris Baptist still got an impressive performance from Joshua Everett, who went 15 for 24 en route to 42 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Everett has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Elliot Dickey was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 23 points and nine boards.

East Central HomeSchool is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Glen Iris Baptist, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-2.

East Central HomeSchool and Glen Iris Baptist should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. East Central HomeSchool (ranked 167th) will meet Tuscaloosa Home Educators (ranked 350th) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Central HomeSchool is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Meanwhile, Glen Iris Baptist will take on Marshall Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday up 326 places (94 vs. 420). East Central HomeSchool is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.1 points per game this season.
