Collegium Charter has gone 9-1 against Renaissance Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougar will square off against the Knights at 3:30 p.m. Collegium Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Collegium Charter turned things around against Church Farm on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Griffens.
Fabian Zorilla made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Bryce Parmiter looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Jimmy Parmiter was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Beard, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Collegium Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Church Farm only posted an OBP of .367.
Meanwhile, Renaissance Academy came up short against MAST Community Charter on Wednesday, falling 17-7. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Renaissance Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Collegium Charter, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-9.
Collegium Charter took their win against Renaissance Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 21-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougar since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
