Kilgore has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Tatum Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Tatum took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Kilgore, who comes in off a win.
Kilgore can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They put the hurt on Carthage with a sharp 4-0 win. Given Kilgore's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Carthage is ranked 425th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Tatum's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 9-1 walloping at the hands of Carthage. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Tatum was already down 6-0.
Kilgore's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-0-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 52 goals over those ten contests. As for Tatum, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Kilgore took their victory against Tatum in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 13-1. Will Kilgore repeat their success, or does Tatum have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
