Basketball Recap: St. Anne Drops Season-High Score on Illinois Lutheran

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Anne). They breezed by the Illinois Lutheran Chargers to the tune of 85-27 on Tuesday. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Chris Link continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 13 for 25 on his way to 28 points and eight rebounds. His evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Langellier, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

St. Anne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

St. Anne is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Illinois Lutheran, their loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.
