Hueytown is 5-0 against Northridge since October of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hueytown Golden Gophers will be playing at home against the Northridge Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hueytown has three straight wins, Northridge has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hueytown beat McAdory 20-15.
Hueytown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jebron Ellington out in front who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakhael Rowser, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Northridge and Central were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Northridge suffered an agonizing 13-12 loss.
Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. All those points came courtesy of Tucker Cornelius: he added 12 points with four field goals.
Hueytown's victory lifted them to 4-3 while Northridge's defeat dropped them down to 1-6.
Hueytown strolled past Northridge when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 41-23. Does Hueytown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
