Copper Basin is 0-10 against Robbinsville since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Cougars will take on the Black Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Copper Basin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Sale Creek on Thursday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 9-2 victory. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Kinsley Ross spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Madden Beach was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Kloie Ballew also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Copper Basin hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Robbinsville made easy work of Cherokee on Friday and carried off a 16-5 victory.
Kynadee Spencer and Suri Watty made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Spencer pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Watty tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Spencer has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Spencer went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Watty went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Watty has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Khaygan Buchanan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Sophie Roberts was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Copper Basin's record now sits at 7-2. As for Robbinsville, their record is now 16-0.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Copper Basin has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Robbinsville struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 1.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Copper Basin suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Robbinsville when the teams last played last Friday. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
