The Hurley Tigers will face off against the Southwest Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hurley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Hurley and Galena, and Hurley kept the tradition alive. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won three in a row.

Addy Maxwell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jaema Schimmels was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Dacia Grubbs was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Hurley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Southwest's offense. They lost 19-0 to Mt. Vernon on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Mountaineers: they've now lost four in a row.

Southwest saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaleigh Tull, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

The win got Hurley back to even at 3-3. As for Southwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
