You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Mountain Valley and Manzanola. Mountain Valley put the hurt on Manzanola with a sharp 41-14 win.
A silver lining for Manzanola was the play of junior Axel Escareno, who rushed for 105 yards and 1 touchdown. In fact, with 12 tackles Escareno was a force on both sides of the ball. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Aaron Sotelo, who racked up ten tackles.
Mountain Valley added further sheen to their flawless record, now 5-0. The loss dropped Manzanola's record to 4-2.
Next week Mountain Valley take on Cripple Creek-Victor at 1:00 PM. As for Manzanola, they will face off against La Veta.
