Last Friday, Apache Junction came up short against Tempe and fell 60-49.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Josh Castro, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Omar Adam, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Dysart put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 89-52 win over Tempe at home. Given Dysart's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Tempe is ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Apache Junction's loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Dysart, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.
Apache Junction took a serious blow against Dysart in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 86-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dysart's Nigel Anderson, who scored 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
