The Hamlin Pied Pipers will challenge the Reagan County Owls at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Hamlin fell victim to Forsan and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 24-0 to the Buffaloes. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Pied Pipers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Meanwhile, while Reagan County put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Miles. The Owls put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 16-0 victory. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.
Brooklynn Reyes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Natalia Aguilar and Yasmine Wells did most of the damage at the plate: Aguilar went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Wells went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave Aguilar a new career-high in RBI (three). Magaley Castillo was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Reagan County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miles only posted an OBP of .214.
Reagan County's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Hamlin, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 1-1-1.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hamlin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .379. However, it's not like Reagan County struggles in that department as they've averaged .400. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
