Turner has gone 9-1 against Big Foot recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Chiefs at 5:00 p.m. Turner is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
On Saturday, Turner earned a 7-3 victory over Waupun.
Maddyn Saunders spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Maddy Hoenig was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Autumn Meris was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Big Foot didn't have quite enough to beat Evansville on Tuesday and fell 4-3. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Holly Kynell put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Lily Wolf was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.
Turner's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Big Foot, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Big Foot's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Turner has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Big Foot, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Turner keep running through batters, or will the Chiefs buck the trend?
Turner came out on top in a nail-biter against Big Foot in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chiefs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
