While Thornwood didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Dajah Claggette made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off only two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Milan Crain was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cyncere Parson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
