Basketball Recap: Pantego Christian Piles Up the Points Against Yavneh Academy

After losing to Yavneh Academy the last time they met, Pantego Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pantego Christian Panthers really took it to the Yavneh Academy Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-42 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.

Pantego Christian was led to victory by Tristan Brown and Evan Jackson. Brown dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards, while Jackson went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Brown is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Aj Brooks was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Pantego Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yavneh Academy only racked up nine assists.

When it comes to explaining why Yavneh Academy lost on Monday, don't look at Darren Sacher. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 10 on his way to 18 points and four steals. What's more, Sacher also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Daniel Sharvit, who posted six points.

Pantego Christian is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 18-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Yavneh Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pantego Christian will head out to square off against Covenant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Covenant has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three contests. As for Yavneh Academy, they will face off against North Dallas Adventist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Dallas Adventist Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
