The Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars extended their postseason success on Tuesday against the North Broward Prep Eagles. Their defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Somerset Academy - Canyons, who have now won nine matchups by three goals or more so far this season.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Denali Swift and
Demario Chambers, who scored all three of Somerset Academy - Canyons' goals. The pair have combined for a total of 17 so far this season.
Somerset Academy - Canyons is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-1-4 record this season. As for North Broward Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4-2.
Somerset Academy - Canyons will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Gulliver Prep at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Gulliver Prep will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Somerset Academy - Canyons surely won't give up without a fight. North Broward Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
