Basketball Recap: Joshua Sloan Key Part of Team Effort in Hawks Win

Cumberland Christian Home Educators proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 24) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Varsity Opponent 62-59. The Hawks haven't had any issues with Varsity Opponent recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Cumberland Christian Home Educators got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Sloan out in front who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Sloan is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. Caleb Tigue was another key player, putting up 14 points along with five assists and five steals.

The victory got Cumberland Christian Home Educators back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Varsity Opponent won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southern Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
