Zack Wilcox and Malcolm Vaught provided fans with a highlight when they connected against East Bladen. The longest such play in 3A/2A Waccamaw this season, the connection resulted in 70 yards.
West Brunswick extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Whiteville, 28-18. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
West Bladen's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Wilcox threw for 351 and three touchdowns and Vaught had 168 yards receiving. On the ground Deandre Long chipped in 17 yards. Tavion Graham helped West Bladen's passing attack out by catching four balls for 58 yards.
The Knights' Wilcox and Vaught have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Wilcox has thrown for 897 yards this season, while Vaught has 45 catches for 510 yards. West Brunswick's Khalil Gause leads the league in rushing yards with 782.
A big matchup in 3A/2A Waccamaw this week will be when the Eagles take on South Columbus. East Bladen is currently in third, while the Stallions are in first.
