Zak Abdalla was on fire: he scored 26 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Shawn Salazar was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 3 steals.
Basic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja'Mari Cottingham, who scored 9 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deon'Te Cottingham, who scored 9 points.
Foothill's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Basic, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foothill will take on Arbor View at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Arbor View's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Basic, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Chaparral at 6:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Chaparral is ranked 49th, while Basic is ranked 44th).
