Lamar won the last time they faced Dover and Eli Jones did his part to make sure it happened again. The Warriors simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Pirates 42-7 with plenty of help from Jones, who rushed for 144 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries, and also threw for 112 yards and two TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made eight total tackles.

One reason for the win was Lamar's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Rylan Mendez and Kasen Humphrey, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece. Another thorn in Dover's side was Mendez, who picked up 1.5 sacks and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Lamar's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-3. As for Dover, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Lamar will take on Dardanelle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Sand Lizards' defense has only allowed ten points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Dover, they will challenge Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
