The Ocala Christian Crusaders suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Belleview 67-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Ocala Christian has suffered against Belleview since January 8, 2018.
Despite the defeat, Ocala Christian saw an underclassman step up: Amari Gordon scored 11 points along with two blocks. Conrad Bloom was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Belleview's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Demarcus Mcdaniel, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Wilson, who scored 13 points.
Ocala Christian are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13. As for Belleview, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ocala Christian will square off against Countryside Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Countryside Christian is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. As for Belleview, they will head out on the road to face off against Vanguard at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vanguard presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Belleview in Florida (Vanguard is ranked 163rd, while Belleview is ranked 692nd).
