Freeway recap Oct. 30, 2012
La Habra extended the longest winning streak in Freeway this week by beating Buena Park, 37-3. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Highlanders.
La Habra took down the Coyotes 37-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Fullerton's dynamic duo of Scott Lloyd and James Hubbard proved tough for Troy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lloyd threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns and Hubbard had 128 yards receiving. Jesus Nodarse helped Fullerton's passing attack out by catching six balls for 92 yards.
Dallas Parent was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 290 yards on 31 carries as the Warriors fell to the Warriors. Nathan Fleming also contributed to the rushing game with 98 yards on the ground.
6-foot-2 quarterback Lloyd of Fullerton is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1489. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, Buena Park's Deven Boston has rushed for 1530 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nate Miranda. The Sonora star has 28 catches for 640 yards.
A big matchup in Freeway this week will be when Frank Mazzotta's team takes on Sonora. At the moment, the Highlanders are in second, while the Raiders are in third.
Troy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Julian Smilowitz's team. Parent caught one passes for three yards in the win.
