Basketball Recap: Frankton Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ethan Stansberry and Javon Miller

Frankton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 48-36 to the Monroe Central Golden Bears. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 90th).

Javon Miller and Ethan Stansberry certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Miller posted nine points, while Stansberry earned eight points. That's the most points Miller has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Carmack, who had eight points and five rebounds.

Leading Monroe Central to victory were Easton Foster and Luke Morgan. Foster dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, while Morgan went 5 of 12 on his way to 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Foster has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times he's played. Carter Duncan was another key player, putting up four points and five rebounds.

Frankton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Monroe Central, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Frankton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-47 win against Anderson Prep Academy on the 7th. As for Monroe Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-56 victory against Cambridge City Lincoln on the 3rd.
