For the second straight game, Durango will face off against Western. The Trailblazers will be playing at home against the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Durango is coming into the match hot, having won their last 14 games.
Western's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: Durango hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Trailblazers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors a 10-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Trailblazers have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Alexander Mercurius made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most home runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Jayden Shuford was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aiden Farrell, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Durango was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in 11 consecutive contests.
Durango's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Western, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Durango has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Western struggles in that department as they've averaged .447. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
