West Stokes (King, N.C.) defeat
South Stokes (Walnut Cove, N.C.) 34-13 after a strong game from
Alex Finney, who rushed for four touchdowns.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Rashad Witherspoon in the first quarter, the Wildcats led 20-8 at the half.
West Stokes grew its lead to 25 points entering the fourth quarter. WS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Witherspoon.
Finney and Witherspoon ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Sauras.
The King school came into the game allowing 15.3 points per game. South Stokes' 13 points were well below its season average of 24.1 per game.
In a 2A Conference 7 game next week West Stokes (7-2) takes on Carver, and South Stokes (2-7) will go up against North Surry also in a 2A Conference 7 game.
