TACOMA, Wash. - Leading by 37 points entering the fourth quarter didn't stop
Port Townsend (Wash.) from scoring, as it added 14 points in the final quarter on the way to a 63-12 victory over Life Christian Academy (Tacoma, Wash.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Jacob King touchdown run in the first quarter, the Redskins were up 35-6 at the half.
Port Townsend grew its lead to 37 points entering the fourth quarter. PT scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Tim Russell.
The Redskins entered the contest giving up 23.3 points per game this year. A defensively strong Port Townsend kept the Eagles well below the 22.2 points it had been averaging per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 30-14 win for PT.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Redskins, who lost to Cascade Christian last week, 58-22. The defeat comes as a step back for Life Christian Academy, which notched a 33-12 victory over Chimacum in its previous outing.
