The Comer Catamounts posted their closest victory yet this season on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Rowe-Clark 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Masai Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Arnez Jones, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Jones is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Marcus Fossett, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Comer is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Rowe-Clark, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Comer will be playing in front of their home fans against Bulls College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rowe-Clark, they will head out on the road to challenge The Noble Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Noble Academy is on a five-game streak of home losses, Rowe-Clark an 11-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
