The Burbank Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Edison Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burbank has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 117 points over their last three matches.
Last Thursday, Burbank didn't have too much trouble with Harlandale at home as they won 35-21. Burbank pushed the score to 35-14 by the end of the third, a deficit Harlandale cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Keven Hernandez, who threw for 290 yards and five touchdowns. Hernandez hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Burbank also got help from Leo Lozano who showed off his sure hands for 138 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Edison took a serious blow against Alamo Heights on Friday, falling 73-6. While losing is never fun, Edison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1108th, while Alamo Heights is ranked 263rd).
Burbank's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points per game. As for Edison, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Burbank beat Edison 32-21 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Burbank since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
