Volleyball Recap: Bishop Ludden Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Bishop Ludden, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against the Cato-Meridian Blue Devils by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. This was payback for the Gaelic Knights, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Bishop Ludden had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-14, 25-23, 26-24.

Riley Abernethy paced Bishop Ludden's offense, picking up 16 kills. Abernethy got some help from Ava Christodoulou and her 15 assists. Finally, Tiz'Ariah Billue kept Bishop Ludden's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Bishop Ludden is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Cato-Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Ludden will head out to take on Onondaga at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. After both having extra time off, Cato-Meridian and Jordan-Elbridge will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on the 25th.
