John Curtis Christian gave up the first points last Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 36-26 victory over St. Augustine. John Curtis Christian pushed the score to 36-14 by the end of the third, a deficit St. Augustine cut but never quite recovered from.
Among those leading the charge was Jason Gabriel, who picked up 89 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Gabriel's longest reception was for an incredible 89 yards. Another player making a difference was Kaheam Smith, who gained 80 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Brother Martin entered their tilt with Archbishop Rummel with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Brother Martin secured a 21-16 W over Archbishop Rummel on Friday.
The win makes it two in a row for John Curtis Christian and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Brother Martin, their victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2.
