Section 11 Division I recap Sept. 26, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lindenhurst, who took down 209th ranked Lindenhurst, 35-14. Matthias Eato ran for 271 yards and caught three passes for 12 yards in the win.
Bay Shore's Eato recorded the longest rushing play in Section 11 Division I this season in his game against the Bulldogs last week.
William Floyd's dynamic duo of A.j. Otranto and Vantrell Nash proved tough for Brentwood to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Otranto threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns and Nash had 198 yards receiving. Jonathan Martinez helped William Floyd's passing attack out by catching one ball for 20 yards.
Bay Shore's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Marauders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jake Sheets has thrown for 452 yards and four touchdowns this season, while McKinley Skinner has 15 catches for 389 yards. Eato leads the league in rushing with 495 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Sachem North takes on Sachem East. Sachem North is currently in second, while Sachem East is in fifth.
The Colonials were the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fourth in Section 11 Division I. William Floyd defeated the Indians 45-0 earlier in the week.
