Softball Recap: Central Magnet Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Central Magnet brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Battle Creek Grizzlies a 20-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for Central Magnet, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Charlee Denney looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Sophia Croasdaile was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and three RBI. Sydney Cumming was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Central Magnet always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .879. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory snapped Central Magnet's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-11 record. As for Battle Creek, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Central Magnet will face off against The Webb School at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Battle Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
