After a string of three wins, the St. Marys Flying Dutch's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They suffered a rough 59-37 defeat at the hands of DuBois. While losing is never fun, St. Marys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 427th, while the Beavers are ranked 130th).
When it comes to explaining why St. Marys lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Nedzinski. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. Louis Nedzinski was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
St. Marys' loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for DuBois, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
St. Marys will be playing at home against the Chucks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for DuBois, they will head out on the road to square off against the Owls at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bradford has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
