The Crete Cardinals lost against the Elkhorn Antlers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Crete fell to Elkhorn 56-52. Crete has struggled against Elkhorn recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Loss or not, Crete got some senior leadership from Anna Hohlen and Marin Rasgorshek. Hohlen scored 23 points along with five steals, while Rasgorshek. scored 11 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hohlen has scored all season.
Crete's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Elkhorn, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Crete will head out on the road to face off against Aurora at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Aurora will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Elkhorn, Elkhorn and Bennington will face off at 5:45 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Bennington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
