Payson lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brooklyn Shirley, who had 12 assists and 10 digs. Another player making a difference was Allie Mangum, who had eight digs and two aces.

Fremont's win brought them up to 16-6. As for Payson, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-9 record.

Coincidentally, Fremont and Payson will both be playing Farmington the next time they take the court. The Lions will head out to face the Phoenix on Saturday, while the Wolves will play them later in the day, at 9:00 a.m.
