On Friday, The Newton County Academy Generals faced the Park Place Christian Academy Crusaders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Newton County Academy blew past Park Place Christian Academy 42-8 on the road. The result was nothing new for Newton County Academy, who have now won seven games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Hunter Scarbrough continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, while also picking up 50 receiving yards. Scarbrough is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last six games he's played. Jackson Bunyard also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Newton County Academy, bringing their record for this year to 10-1. As for Park Place Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Newton County Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Park Place Christian Academy will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mississippi School for the Deaf at 7:00 p.m. Mississippi School for the Deaf has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 132 points over their last three matches.
