Springfield barely beat Holly the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Longhorns put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.

The win didn't come easy: Holly scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 25-19.

Springfield's offense was headlined by Cobi Mackey and Madison Varnado, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Dakota Reid and her 21 assists. Mackey was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Holly's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Natalia Garrido, who had 24 digs, and Luci Schwab, who had 12 digs and two aces. Garrido has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Springfield's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Holly, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
