Those runs marked the first that she scored this season. Another player making a difference was Maddisyn Christensen, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Providence Hall ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Juan Diego Catholic, sneaking past 18-17. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since April 24, 2024.
Providence Hall got a massive performance out of Alysa Marcek, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits Marcek has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylie Julian, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
Providence Hall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .488. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Summit Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Providence Hall, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Summit Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .543. However, it's not like Providence Hall struggles in that department as they've averaged .469. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
