The Harlandale Indians will square off against the Medina Valley Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Harlandale came up short against MacArthur on Friday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Brahmas: they've now lost four in a row.
Harlandale was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, 25-20.
Cristine Flores put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had eight digs and three aces.
Meanwhile, Medina Valley got the win against Del Rio on Friday by a conclusive 3-0. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Medina Valley walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-18, 25-21.
Harlandale better focus on containing Addison F Friesenhahn and Briley Davis as the pair were huge in Medina Valley's win. Friesenhahn had 16 digs and one assist, while Davis had six digs. Friesenhahn is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 14 games she's played.
Medina Valley's win bumped their record up to 16-17. As for Harlandale, they now have a losing record of 14-15.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Harlandale has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Medina Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
