Softball Recap: Mount Pleasant Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Mount Pleasant put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Monroe Redhawks get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Redhawks, too.

Reese Parnell looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Mount Pleasant got a massive performance out of Sophia Nall, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Taylor Seagraves was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

Mount Pleasant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Mount Pleasant's record is now 3-0. As for Monroe, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Pleasant will take on Southwestern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monroe, they will square off against Queen's Grant at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
