This season hasn't been kind to The Joshua Owls, who are still winless after their ninth game. They were dealt a 35-0 defeat at the hands of Mansfield Summit on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, Joshua couldn't push the score so high this time.
It was another big night for Amare Burgess, who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Burgess is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.

Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.3 points per game. As for Mansfield Summit, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Joshua will head out on the road to face off against Corsicana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Corsicana has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 31.
