Lee County is 9-1 against Union Pines since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Yellow Jackets will host the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Lee County and Southern Lee had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Yellow Jackets walked away with a 4-1 win over the Cavaliers on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Drew Stanfield was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Lee County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Union Pines had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Montgomery Central by a score of 5-2 on Friday.
Dylan Benedict spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, David Park was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kaeden Sovey, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.
Lee County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-12. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Union Pines, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.
