The Cornerstone Charter Cardinals suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 79-37 loss at the hands of Piedmont Classical. Cornerstone Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.
Despite the loss, Cornerstone Charter still got an impressive performance from Tristan Cole, who scored 17 points along with five steals. Cole has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Spencer Knight, who scored two points along with eight rebounds.
Piedmont Classical got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron Anderson out in front who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Nick Daniel was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Cornerstone Charter bumped their record down to 4-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Piedmont Classical, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Cornerstone Charter will be playing at home against Bethany at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bethany has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 29. As for Piedmont Classical, they will head out on the road to face off against College Prep & Leadership Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. College Prep & Leadership Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
