Brantley is 6-0 against Opp since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Brantley Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the Opp Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Brantley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to Florala for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-43 win at home. Brantley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.
Brantley found their leader in underclassman Alex Grimes, who scored 31 points along with three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Grimes has scored at least a third of Brantley's points. Annah Parker Little was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Opp has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 36-29 win over McKenzie on Thursday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Opp to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samaria Womack, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was TaKyra Crittenden, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Brantley's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Opp, their win bumped their record up to 3-18.
Everything came up roses for Brantley against Opp in their previous meeting on January 4th as the team secured a 61-32 victory. Does Brantley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Opp turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
